The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) is an immigration program designed to attract skilled workers, business entrepreneurs, and Express Entry candidates who wish to settle in Prince Edward Island (PEI). PEI Business Impact Program
The Business Impact Program is designed for entrepreneurs who wish to invest in and actively manage a business in PEI. This stream includes:
Work Permit Stream
This stream is for foreign entrepreneurs who wish to establish and operate a business in PEI before receiving provincial nomination.
Requirements:
- A minimum personal net worth of CAD $600,000.
- Minimum business investment of CAD $150,000.
- Business must be in an eligible sector and provide economic benefit to PEI.
- Must have at least three years of business ownership or senior management experience.
- Demonstrate language proficiency (CLB 4 or higher in English or French).
- Submit a business plan and sign a Performance Agreement with PEI.
Application Process:
- Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
- If invited, submit a full business application.
- Sign a Performance Agreement and receive a work permit.
- Operate the business in PEI for at least 1 year.
- Receive nomination for permanent residency.
PEI Labor Impact Program
The Labor Impact Program is for workers who have a job offer from a PEI employer. This category includes two streams:
1. Skilled Worker Stream
Designed for individuals with job offers in skilled occupations (NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3).
Eligibility Requirements:
- A full-time, permanent job offer from a PEI employer.
- Minimum two years of work experience in the related field.
- A post-secondary degree or diploma.
- Meet language requirements (CLB 4 or higher).
- Demonstrate intent to reside permanently in PEI.
2. Critical Worker Stream
This stream is for individuals working in semi-skilled or unskilled occupations that are in high demand in PEI.
Eligibility Requirements:
- A full-time job offer from a PEI employer in an eligible occupation.
- At least six months of work experience in PEI with the same employer.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet language requirements (CLB 4 or higher).
PEI Express Entry Program
The PEI Express Entry Stream is for candidates who meet the criteria of the federal Express Entry system and wish to increase their chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Have an active Express Entry profile.
- Meet the eligibility criteria for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), or Federal Skilled Trades (FST).
- Job offer not required but preferred.
- Have work experience in an in-demand occupation.
- Meet language proficiency requirements (CLB 7 or higher).
- Demonstrate intent to live and work in PEI.
